Camila Fernández reiterates that she wants to continue singing mariachi music: “I won many hearts”
Camila Fernández spoke with La Opinión de Los Ángeles about her time in “Juego de Voces”, the unexpected affection of the public and her musical plans
Despite not having won the show, Camila Fernández left “Juego de Voces” with a certainty that weighs more than any trophy: the public truly embraced her. In an exclusive interview with journalist Clary Castro, from La Opinión de Los Ángeles, the young singer and daughter of Alejandro Fernández confessed that she never imagined the receptivity and affection she would receive during her participation in the program.
“I didn't expect this affection so beautiful and so honest,” said Camila. The artist said that she arrived at the contest with a mixture of fears and uncertainty.
“I entered with a lot of fear and a lot of uncertainty, not knowing how the public was going to react” Camila Fernández
However, the response from viewers quickly dispelled those ghosts. Now, Fernández feels that he has gained “friends everywhere” and says that he enjoys every time they ask him for a photo or give him a hug.
“It doesn't matter that I didn't win the show, but I won a lot of hearts and a lot of new friends, really,” he said.
About the mariachi ballad
Far from stopping, Camila took advantage of the momentum to consolidate her musical career. Regarding his new projects, he revealed that he planned to release an album in September, whether or not it was part of “Juego de Voces.” Fate, however, wanted everything to coincide. “The first single from this album came out and it happened that it would be a ballad with mariachi,” he explained.
A curiosity that Camila herself highlighted is that, within the program, the public saw her singing ballads, although they were not her choices. "The same people from the program played it for me. But everything aligned because I had never sung ballads in Spanish and people loved it," he confessed.
The result of this “cosmic alignment” is already reflected in numbers. The artist indicated that her new commitment to the mariachi ballad, titled “Suéltame”, has been well received: “It has been out for three weeks and has two million streams.”
An album in September and dates in California and Las Vegas
The idea of delving into the mariachi ballad subgenre was no coincidence. Camila explained that the proposal arose from the composers and the producer Fabián Rincón, a major name in regional music, recognized for his career working with his grandfather, the unforgettable Vicente Fernández, as well as with Joan Sebastian.
“What I'm going to release right now is a mariachi ballad,” the singer reiterated, making clear her intention to remain firm on this path. Their first album will be released in September, a month that will also mark the beginning of live performances in California and Las Vegas.
