After the suspicious role of civil judge and police officers in the land dispute case, Punjab-Haryana High Court has ordered to hand over the investigation to CBI. The High Court said that a CBI investigation is necessary in this matter so that people maintain faith in the system. Along with this, an order has been given to send the information about the allegations against Civil Judge Navreet Kaur to the Administrative Judge (High Court) of Mohali.

In February, the High Court was told that a bank officer had been called to the court to get information about the trust's bank accounts. The bank accounts for which information was sought had nothing to do with this land dispute. The High Court sought a reply from the civil judge on this and after seeing the reply, said that it was evasive.

The High Court criticized the attitude of the Punjab Police and said that in August 2023, the police had demanded cancellation of the FIR in this case, saying that this matter is basically a land dispute. On October 18, the police changed their stance and said that a charge sheet had been filed against three accused and the role of the other accused was still under investigation. The court said that the maintainers of the system, who were expected to use the law in the right direction, started using the law in the wrong direction.

The High Court said that the facts revealed a shocking story of how the process of law was misused by unscrupulous elements. Before directing the CBI to investigate, the High Court said that we are confident that the CBI will complete the investigation within six months. The impact of pollutants on the system needs to be nipped in the bud and those responsible for it need to be kept under close scrutiny. It is necessary to investigate this matter by CBI so that people's trust in the system remains intact.
