Amid the ongoing protests by junior doctors over the RG Kar rape and murder case, Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Kunal Ghosh has accused the demonstrators of deliberately trying to cause anarchy and disorder. Ghosh claimed that the protesters are being guided by left and ultra-left forces and are continuously changing their demands to disrupt the state government and the TMC.

TMC’s Allegations Against Junior Doctors

Speaking about the protests, Kunal Ghosh said, “They don’t want the case to be resolved; they are trying their best to cause anarchy and disorder. Some of them are left and ultra-left faces. The first demand was that they wanted the CBI to take over the case instead of the Kolkata Police, but within 24 hours, the accused was arrested by the Kolkata Police.”

Ghosh continued to explain how the situation evolved: “Then the High Court handed over the case to the CBI, and they welcomed it. Now they are saying that they have no faith in the CBI. What is going on? They have no faith in the Kolkata Police, health administration, Supreme Court, or the CBI. This is their politics.”

Junior Doctors’ Changing Demands

The protests, which began as a demand for justice in the RG Kar case, have seen the junior doctors repeatedly shift their stance. Initially, they called for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to take over the case from the Kolkata Police. However, after the CBI was brought in, the protesters expressed distrust in the agency as well.

“They are continuously changing their demands and focus, trying to drag the issue guided by left and ultra-left forces,” Ghosh stated, emphasizing that the protest had taken on a political dimension. According to the TMC leader, the actions of the junior doctors appear to be an attempt to undermine the state government rather than genuinely seeking justice for the victim.

Accusations of Political Motivation

The TMC leader’s comments come at a time when tensions are high in Kolkata, with protests over the RG Kar case drawing public attention and criticism from various political factions.
