The Moroccan U-20 team defeated the United States 1-3 on Sunday and qualified for the semifinals of the U-20 World Cup in Chile, where they will face France, which defeated Norway 1-2 in the other group.

Fouad opened the scoring Zahouani in the 31st minute, Cole Campbell equalized from a penalty in the sixth minute of added time in the first half and in the second half the one-on-one was decided by an own goal from Joshua Wynder (m. 67) and a goal from Gessime Yassine (m. 87).

The Moroccan team thus equaled its best result in this tournament, fourth place in 2005.

It looked like the game was going to be 1-0 at halftime, but in the last play of the first half, after a cross into the box from Corcoran that went out over the byline, Peruvian referee Kevin Ortega awarded a penalty to Ali Maamar for holding on Norris.

Cole Campbell made no mistake from the penalty spot and left the game as it had started.

The second half developed in a similar way to the first, with the United States taking possession and Morocco, lying low, playing on their opponents' mistakes.

In the 67th minute, Morocco turned on the United States goal and Yassir Zabiri shot in the back of the net, but the ball was deflected by defender Joshua Wynder, who ended up putting the ball into the back of the net.

Morocco put the game to bed in the 87th minute. Ilias Boumassaoudi took advantage of the lack of understanding between Habroune and goalkeeper Adam Beaudry and passed the ball to Gessime Yassine to put it in.
