The conquest of the 2026 World Cup unleashed a massive celebration in Spain. Nearly 2 million people, according to the Government Delegation in Madrid, took to the streets to accompany the Spanish team during the open-top bus tour that took the champion team to different parts of the capital.
The party culminated in the Plaza de Cibeles, where more than 120,000 fans were waiting for the national team to close a day that began with official receptions and ended with a musical show to celebrate winning the second World Cup.
Two million people accompanied Spain in the parade through Madrid
The bus tour began after the official receptions held at the Palacio de la Zarzuela and the Palacio de la Moncloa.
Once these events were concluded, the players changed their official suits for commemorative t-shirts of the championship and began the parade through the main avenues of Madrid aboard an open bus, from where they greeted the fans, showed the trophy and interacted with the crowd.
During the journey, the soccer players sang, danced, took photographs with their mobile phones and thanked the fans who packed the streets, squares and sidewalks for the support of the celebration.
What was the route of the celebration in Spain?
The parade passed through some of the most emblematic points of Madrid.
The itinerary began in Moncloa and continued through Princesa, Alberto Aguilera, Carranza, Sagasta, Génova, Goya, Serrano, Plaza de la Independencia, Puerta de Alcalá, Alfonso XII and Montalbán streets, until reaching the Cibeles Palace.
Although the tour was scheduled to conclude around 9:00 p.m., the large number of attendees caused delays and the festivities continued into the night.

The highlight of the festivities was the Plaza de Cibeles, where more than 120,000 people awaited the arrival of the world champions.
The main event was held there with musical performances by Ana Mena, Lola Índigo, Aitana and the band Arde Bogotá, who enlivened the celebration while the players shared the title with the fans.
