The alleged author of the shooting registered in the center of ICE located in Dallas has been identified
Joshua Jahn allegedly shot three people and then took his own life to avoid being arrested by police
Sources familiar with an ongoing investigation into the shooting that occurred this morning at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention center in Dallas, Texas, identify Joshua Jahn as the alleged perpetrator.
The suspect shot three people who were in a van and, after firing more shots from a roof near the ICE facility, he killed himself around 7:00 a.m.
State criminal records list Joshua Jahn as being from Texas and described as having brown hair and eyes, being 6 feet 11 inches tall and weighing 215 pounds.
Nine years ago, he was charged with distributing marijuana in an amount greater than 1/4 ounce but less than 5 pounds, a felony.
The last address listed for him suggests he was living in Oklahoma. However, police have noted that he has been moving around Texas all the time.
Although authorities reported that the bullets recovered near Joshua Jahn’s body had “anti-ICE messages” scrawled on them, in an interview with NBC, Noah Jahn, who claims to be his older brother, said he was not convinced that the attack on the ICE facility was politically motivated.
“As far as I knew, he didn’t have strong feelings toward ICE. I didn’t think he had any political interests. As far as I know, he wasn’t interested in the politics of either party,” he said.
