More than 2.5 million immigrants have left the US, reveals a DHS report
Department of Homeland Security estimates that nearly 1.9 million undocumented immigrants have self-deported so far this year
In its review of the work carried out over 11 months, the DHS also mentions that illegal border crossings decreased by 93%, fentanyl trafficking was cut in half, and hundreds of thousands of undocumented immigrants were arrested or deported.
Regarding the number of immigrants who left the United States, the federal agency estimates that 1.9 million self-deported and more than 622,000 were forced to leave the country.
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has seized nearly 540,000 pounds of drugs, representing an increase of approximately 10% compared to the same period a year ago.
In its report, the DHS also highlights the Coast Guard's work in seizing nearly 470,000 pounds of cocaine, an amount estimated to have killed 177 million people.
In this regard, she also praises the strategy adopted by the federal government, emphasizing that it achieved savings of more than $13 billion at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).
One of the key points in achieving the voluntary departure of millions of immigrants from the country is that the Trump administration incentivizes them to use the CBP Home mobile app, through which undocumented immigrants can claim a complimentary plane ticket to their countries of origin and are also granted a $1,000 departure bonus when it is verified that they are outside the United States.
“In less than a year, President Trump has achieved some of the most historic and momentous accomplishments in history, and this administration is just getting started.
Under President Trump's leadership, we are restoring security and putting the American people first.
In record time, we have secured the border, taken down the cartels, and arrested thousands upon thousands of migrants,” the text reads in part.
