NWS warns of high surf in Southern California
The National Weather Service predicts intense surf and dangerous rip currents on the coast of Southern California, with recent tragic incidents
The National Weather Service (NWS) predicted intense waves and dangerous rip currents on the coasts of Southern California for the first days of the week, conditions that in recent days have already caused fatalities in the state.
NWS forecasters warned residents that there is still a risk of high surf coming from the south, along with higher tides, which will cause dangerous rip currents from the Santa Barbara County coast to the south.
The NWS recommended people stay away from rocks and docks, as well as keep an eye on surf conditions and follow the directions of lifeguards before entering the water.
