The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) identified Bailey Magana on Monday as the off-duty officer who died early Saturday morning in a car crash in Santa Clarita.
Magana, of 25-year-old Officer Magana, who was assigned to the Mission Division, was driving through the Saugus neighborhood of Santa Clarita when his car ran off the road, struck a pole, and burst into flames. “On Saturday morning, in an off-duty traffic accident in Santa Clarita, Officer Magana passed away,” LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell posted on the police department’s Facebook page.
