Although California primary vote counting began before Election Day, the results of individual races may be revealed several days later.

According to a previously established and authorized schedule, preliminary results would be announced on the night of the voting and in the following days, but without knowing who the winner is in most of the elections.

Voter turnout in this year's primaries is expected to surpass 30% of that in the 2022 midterm primaries, driven by high interest in California's gubernatorial race.
