The new Bugatti Destrier aims to be in a category of vehicles designed to become collector's items from the moment it is presented. It was not intended to break speed records, but to demonstrate how far creativity can go when there are no limits.

The French brand chose this model as the third installment of its Solitaire Program, an initiative reserved for manufacturing completely unique vehicles.

Its official premiere will take place at Monterey Car Week 2026, one of the most important meetings for collectors and enthusiasts of high-level automobiles.
A design that breaks with convention
Although it shares the same technical base as the Bugatti Bolide, the Destrier opts for a completely different identity. Instead of prioritizing huge aerodynamic elements, the designers opted for a clean, elegant and very low body, where proportions are the true protagonists.
At just one meter high, it is among the lowest Bugatti built so far. Its 20-inch wheels on the front axle and 21-inch wheels on the rear reinforce a powerful image reminiscent of a horse ready to go into action.
The legendary W16 engine continues to be the protagonist
Under the body remains one of the most emblematic engines in the industry. Bugatti retained the 8.0-liter W16 engine with four turbochargers that the Bolide also uses, capable of delivering 1,578 horsepower.
However, the brand makes it clear that the Destrier's main objective is not performance on a track. Its true reason for being is in the exclusivity, craftsmanship and artistic value that each of its pieces represents.
Inspired by Bugatti history
The name Destrier refers to the war horses used by medieval knights, known for their strength and elegance. This inspiration is also reflected in the philosophy of the project, which eliminates all unnecessary elements to highlight only what conveys character.
The model also pays tribute to great classics of the brand, such as the Type 57 and the unforgettable Type 57SC Atlantic. It even incorporates a hand-engraved plaque that connects this creation to some of the most important automobiles in Bugatti's history.
One of the most striking details is the Sapphire Celeste color, developed exclusively for this car. The paint uses a multi-layer process with particles inspired by the brilliance of diamonds, while polished aluminum and dyed carbon fiber complement a highly refined aesthetic.
The engine compartment incorporates metallic finishes with a hammered texture, a nod to the medieval armor that inspired the project. The interior is dominated by leather, nubuck and an innovative three-dimensional fabric made with techniques similar to those of haute couture. The brown tones, the copper details and the presence of the French flag complete an environment thought out down to the last detail.
Exclusivity reaches its maximum expression because the Destrier will not have a second unit. Each component was developed specifically for its owner, from the paint to the cabin configuration. Even the oil cap is engraved with the inscription “1/1”, a certification that confirms that this Bugatti will be an unrepeatable work of art.
