The American actor shared a video on his social media to deny the rumors about his personal situation after a recent interview
Kevin Spacey clarified that he wasn't homeless, thus denying the rumors that circulated about his personal situation after some recent statements.
Through a post on his Instagram account, the American actor pointed out that although he currently doesn't have a fixed residence, he has been living in different hotels and temporary accommodations such as Airbnb and I have clarified that he is not homeless.
“I don't usually make correcting the middle part of my routine; if I did, I wouldn't have time for much else. But, in light of the recent articles claiming that I am homeless, I feel the need to respond,” Spacey said.
The video comes days after The Telegraph published an interview in which the actor spoke about his itinerant lifestyle, which the outlet titled: “Interview with Kevin Spacey: Homeless, canceled and singing in Cyprus,” leading many to misinterpret his current situation.
“This is not for the press, but for the thousands of you who have reached out in the last few days, offering me a place to stay or simply asking if I'm okay. I am deeply touched by your generosity, period. But it would be dishonest to allow you to believe that I am actually homeless in the colloquial sense,” he stated.
“There are plenty of people living on the streets, in their cars or in terrible financial situations. "My heart goes out to them, but it's clear, even in the article, that I am not one of those people, nor did I try to imply that I was," he added. The actor also expressed his gratitude to those who offered him support. The two-time Oscar-winning actor has been going through a difficult time since 2017, when he faced multiple accusations of sexual assault, although he was acquitted in all criminal proceedings. This legal battle and the public controversy significantly impacted his career and financial situation. He explained that the loss of income and legal expenses led to an unstable housing situation. But he himself has pointed out that he is neither bankrupt nor completely homeless.
