More than $363 million in medical debt has been eliminated since December 2024 for low-income families in Los Angeles County.
More than 171,000 residents have benefited from the Los Angeles County Medical Debt Relief Pilot Program, the county health department announced Tuesday in a press release. “Medical debt should never stand between our residents and the care they deserve,” said Los Angeles County Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell in a statement.
