Through a statement published on its website, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warned on July 13 about the voluntary recall of more than 730,000 Pillsbury bread rolls from the General Mills company due to the risk of containing pieces of glass in their dough.

Given the FDA's announcement, the manufacturer spoke out indicating that, "out of an abundance of caution, in mid-June, we issued a voluntary recall of two frozen dough products baked in our facilities and sold exclusively at Walmart bakeries in the United States. This voluntary recall is limited, strictly controlled, and all potentially affected product has been removed," General Mills highlighted in its statement.

The voluntary recall, classified by the FDA as Class II, affected at least 3,800 boxes of Pillsbury Hard Roll Dough (with an expiration date before October 12, 2026 and recall number H-1154-2026) and 1,260 boxes of Pillsbury Kaiser Roll Dough (with an expiration date before October 12, 2026 and recall number H-1155-2026).

Both products were distributed in 19 states in the country, including California, Florida, Texas, New York, among others.

Likewise, the health entity's report also noted that this food “may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.”

Finally, the FDA recommends that consumers discard the product or return it to the store for a refund.
