The German manufacturer is preparing the arrival of new configurations for the electric GLC, a model that debuted a few months ago and that now seeks to reach a wider audience thanks to more varied mechanical options.

The launch strategy began with the most powerful version of the range, but the brand considers that it is time to incorporate alternatives with different levels of power, autonomy and price to reinforce its presence in the face of increasingly stronger competition.
Two new alternatives arrive this month
The main novelty is the incorporation of the new GLC 250 EQ and GLC 300 4MATIC. Both models will begin accepting orders in the German market during June and represent new steps within the electric family.
The GLC 250 EQ will become the entry point to the range, while the GLC 300 4MATIC will offer all-wheel drive for those seeking a higher level of performance and safety in different driving conditions.
The first units of these versions should reach customers before the end of the year.
Power and fast charging
The GLC 250 EQ will use a single rear engine with 349 horsepower. For its part, the GLC 300 4MATIC will have two engines and a combined power of 416 horsepower.
Both configurations will share an 85 kWh battery and an 800-volt electrical architecture. Thanks to this, they will be able to support fast charges of up to 320 kW, allowing 10% to 80% of the energy to be recovered in approximately 22 minutes.
Mercedes is also working on a more affordable alternative that will use a 64 kWh LFP battery. This variant will have a 309 horsepower engine and will be aimed at customers who prioritize a lower cost of access to the electric world.
For now, the company has not confirmed the launch date of this configuration, although it is part of the expansion planned for the coming months.
The goal is to reach 735 kilometers
Later, the expected GLC 300 EQ will appear, a version focused mainly on efficiency. Its system will combine a 362 horsepower motor with a 94 kWh battery.
According to the brand's estimates, this variant will be able to homologate up to 735 kilometers of autonomy under the WLTP cycle, becoming the most efficient of the entire range.
Even so, the figure would still be below some of its main rivals. The most capable versions of models such as the BMW iX3 and the Volvo EX60 already announce ranges of over 800 kilometers, a reference that demonstrates how intense the race has become to offer more and more range in the premium electric segment.
