Toyota took a Corolla, removed the rear seats, put carbon fiber parts in it, and took it to the Nürburgring again and again. The result is a compact that has little to do with the calm image that normally accompanies this name.

This is the Toyota GRMN Corolla 2026, the most extreme interpretation that Toyota Gazoo Racing has created on this model. It is not simply a version with more power. The brand worked on the engine, aerodynamics, suspension and weight to make it a machine much more focused on sports driving.

And it will be a pretty difficult car to find. Toyota will produce only 730 units for the entire world, with a presence in the United States, Japan and Australia. In the US market it will have a starting price of $64,360 dollars and its arrival is scheduled for the end of summer.
A small engine with much more power
The heart of the GRMN Corolla remains the well-known 1.6-liter three-cylinder turbo engine. However, Toyota modified different internal components to bring it up to 300 horsepower and 302 pound-feet of torque.
Torque delivery is especially important for those who want to take it to the track, since the engine offers its greatest thrust between 4,000 and 4,600 rpm. Transmission also plays a fundamental role. It is a six-speed iMT intelligent manual with close ratios.
Toyota also added an intercooler spray system, a subradiator and an optimized intake. The intention is to keep temperatures under control when the car is subjected to prolonged sessions of demanding driving.
Nürburgring had a lot to do with it
The surname GRMN, which corresponds to Gazoo Racing Masters of Nürburgring, serves to identify the most radically oriented Toyotas. In this case, the German circuit was an important piece during the development.
Engineers racked up thousands of miles of testing at the Nürburgring to find the right balance between stability, response and speed. They also took advantage of knowledge gained in the Japanese Super Taikyu championship, where Toyota competes with a Corolla equipped with a combustion engine adapted to run on hydrogen.
The aerodynamic work is another of the big changes. The GRMN Corolla features a carbon fiber hood, front fenders made of the same material, functional air intakes, side fins and a five-position adjustable rear spoiler.
Even the wing angle was tested grade by grade with professional pilots to find a setting that increased downforce without compromising top speed.
Less weight and a suspension made to attack curves
Toyota didn't just add sporty parts either. One of the most striking decisions was to completely eliminate the rear seats. The GRMN Corolla thus becomes a two-seater car and manages to reduce about 66 pounds compared to the conventional GR Corolla.
The diet continues with different elements made of carbon fiber. Less weight means a better ratio between mass and power, but also a quicker response when changing direction.
The suspension received similar attention. The model uses specific monotube shock absorbers on both axles and internal rebound springs designed to maintain wheel contact with the asphalt when lateral loads increase.
The suspension stops were also revised to withstand the irregularities characteristic of the Nürburgring. To complete the set, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires appear, a high-performance compound designed for those who really want to take advantage of the car's capabilities.
An interior designed for two
The most obvious change inside the cabin is the absence of rear seats. In their place appear new semi-bucket seats upholstered in Brin Naub suede and synthetic leather, with red details and greater lateral support.
The 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster receives specific carbon finishes manufactured at Toyota's Motomachi plant. A signature from Morizo also appears, the name used by Akio Toyoda when participating in motorsport-related activities.
The exclusivity is reinforced with a numbered plate, GRMN moldings and Alumite red details. The flocked finish on the instrument panel also helps reduce reflections.
For entertainment, Toyota incorporates an eight-inch multimedia screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Only 730 units and two colors
The 2026 Toyota GRMN Corolla will be available only in Zero Gravity and Gravel, both combined with forged wheels in a matte bronze finish.
Worldwide production will be limited to 730 units, a figure that will probably make getting one as difficult as finding a good opportunity to take it to a track.
Despite its radical approach, Toyota did not forget about safety. The model incorporates Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, traffic sign recognition, blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert.
With 300 horsepower, manual transmission, two seats, carbon components and a tuning developed at the Nürburgring, the GRMN Corolla clearly distances itself from the Corolla that most know. And with only 730 units available, Toyota knows perfectly well that this will be one of those models that fans will want to keep, drive and, probably, not miss.
