People circulating near a branch of the In-N-Out Burger restaurant located on Blue Lakes Boulevard in Twin Falls, southern Idaho, were taken by surprise by a subject who, for no apparent reason, began shooting, seriously injuring several people.
In a press conference, Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks announced that the individual who fired the weapon ended up dead, but beforehand he also allegedly took the lives of some civilians without the number of victims being known yet.
So far, the identity of the attacker is unknown, but authorities believe they have put an end to the risk of more firearm detonations in the area.
Denny Warnick, director of operations at In-N-Out, issued a statement in which it is mentioned that the staff of the branch affected by the incident is collaborating with the police with all the information requested to try to understand what may have happened prior to the shooting.
"We are deeply shocked. Our prayers are with our customers, our employees and their families. We are collaborating with the Twin Falls Police Department to assist in the ongoing investigation," part of the letter states.
Brad Little, governor of Idaho, took to social media to ask citizens to join in prayer to ask for the families of the attacker's victims.
"Idaho residents, please join me in praying for the Twin Falls community as law enforcement and emergency services respond to a shooting near In-N-Out. Please avoid the area and follow the instructions of police who are working to ensure everyone's safety," he wrote.
