Angela Aguilar affirms that she is keeping her promise to help migrants with her tour
In an interview with the 'Los Angeles Times', Aguilar confessed that she is donating to a cause that is truly important to her
Singer Angela Aguilar affirmed that she is keeping the promise she made at the beginning of her 'Libre Corazon 2025' tour in the United States, allocating part of the profits to support migrant communities affected by immigration challenges in that country.
In an exclusive interview with Los Angeles In an interview with Times, the regional Mexican singer confirmed: “We are helping the communities that are currently having problems with the whole immigration issue in the United States. We are donating to these causes, which are very important to me.” The artist gave the interview after her latest concert in Los Angeles, which took place at the Dolby Theatre, the famous theater in Hollywood. In a video posted on the star's account, the venue can be seen packed with people, who applauded her at the end of her performance. Aguilar, who has Mexican roots and is the granddaughter of legendary artists Antonio Aguilar and Flor Silvestre, had promised to donate part of the proceeds from her U.S. tour to immigration causes.
Although she didn't specify amounts or details about the aid mechanisms—whether in kind or in cash—rumors circulated on social media indicating that she would donate one dollar for every ticket sold, information that generated mixed reactions among the public.
The artist's statement quickly went viral, generating both support and skepticism. Some users expressed doubts about the veracity of her actions, with comments such as: "And how is she going to donate if they gave away tickets at her concerts," "I don't believe her at all," and "Yeah, right, and that only happens in her imagination."
These criticisms were potentially exacerbated by the cancellation of 12 of the 18 dates originally scheduled for the tour, including concerts in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Chicago, North Carolina, and Denver, although the official reasons were not disclosed.
Aspirations outside of music
During the same interview, Aguilar also spoke about her aspirations outside of music. When asked about a possible foray into acting, she responded enthusiastically: “I would love to, although I don't know how actors do it… I feel that perhaps singing is a bit like acting, because you have to feel what you're singing, but this is a world I would love to explore.” The singer, who considers herself a dramatic person, sees potential in this trait for future audiovisual projects. The “Libre Corazon 2025” tour will conclude on December 13 in Las Vegas, Nevada, marking the end of a tour that combined musical performances with a gesture of support for a social cause that, according to her own statements, is closely related to many Latino communities in the United States.
