A moment of tension and concern was experienced in Mexico City during the second presentation of the British artist Harry Styles at the GNP Seguros Stadium, as part of his long-awaited concert residency in the country.
The former member of One Direction suffered a spectacular fall on stage in front of tens of thousands of attendees, after the inclement weather turned the catwalk into an extremely slippery surface.
The incident occurred during the first minutes of the show, while the performer energetically walked around the main platform to connect with the audience during the opening song, “Are You Listening Yet?”
Due to the accumulation of moisture in the structure, the singer suddenly lost his balance and ended up slipping until he was on the wet floor. The scene caused instant exclamations of alarm among the fans who packed the venue.
However, the scare did not get worse. Showing off the charisma and professionalism that characterize him, Styles remained lying on the stage for just a few seconds, put his hand to his head and even improvised a quick comic pose to reassure the audience before standing up under his own power.
With his pants visibly soaked by the water accumulated on the stage, the British star took back the microphone, smiled and continued performing the song as if nothing had happened, unleashing a massive ovation in the stadium.
The day was already marked by weather complications. Hours before the event began, a strong storm accompanied by hail affected various parts of the Mexican capital, forcing the production team to delay the start of the show for almost two hours to carry out drainage work and protect the technical equipment.
Although the staff worked at full speed, the weather conditions prevented the platform from drying completely. Fortunately, no major injuries were reported and Styles was able to carry out the rest of the concert normally.
The Briton will continue his tour in Mexico City with four additional dates scheduled for August 4, 7, 8 and 10 at the GNP Seguros Stadium.
