Bad Bunny excludes the USA from his tour for fear of ICE raids
The Puerto Rican singer will visit countries such as the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Mexico, Colombia
Just a few days before concluding his residency in Puerto Rico, titled “No Me Quiero Ir De Aqui” and a preamble to a world tour, Bad Bunny has confirmed that he will not perform shows in the United States despite the Latino presence in this country. The reason? The political situation and the danger that the deployment of possible immigration raids represents for the Hispanic community.
According to Benito's most recent statements, performing in this territory opens the possibility that agents of the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service (ICE) will go to the venues to make arrests.
"There was the problem that the damn ICE could be outside (of the concert). And that is something that we talked about and that worried us a lot," explained the Puerto Rican through an interview published by iD magazine.
Despite this decision, which according to what Bad Bunny revealed was not motivated by hate, he fondly remembers the concerts he has had the opportunity to give in the United States throughout his career.
"I performed there many times. All the performances were a success. They were all magnificent. I enjoyed connecting with the Latinos who live in the United States," added the 31-year-old artist.
However, the The opportunity for American audiences to see Bad Bunny on stage remains open. His “DeBI TIRAR MaS FOToS World Tour” will see him visit countries such as the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, and Spain beginning November 21 of this year. Meanwhile, the performer of songs like “NUEVAYoL” and “Ojitos Lindos” is preparing for the grand finale of his 30-concert residency in Puerto Rico on September 14.
