Danna calls for an end to digital violence after controversy between Belinda and Kenia Os
The Mexican singer shared a statement on social networks in which she urged her fans not to engage in hate speech on social networks.
The Mexican singer Danna Paola has issued a strong message about the digital violence that is currently being experienced. His forceful reflection comes at a time of high tension involving his colleagues Belinda and Kenia Os.
The controversy between the pop stars began on July 21, when the “Dopamina” singer referred to her duet with Danna with a phrase that unleashed the anger of the so-called “Keninis”, fans of the Sinaloan singer.
“I think that in Mexico two pop stars have never gotten together to make music, sometimes egos are far above talent or projects,” are the words that Internet users described as a hint to Kenia Os.
This situation escalated to such a point that Belinda herself took to her social media channels to report death threats.
Yesterday I deleted a comment because I started to receive a lot of hate, a lot of hate; in fact, death threats. "I'm not used to receiving death threats and I think fandoms should have limits," she said on her Instagram account.
Danna joins the conversation
In the face of this controversy, Danna broke the silence from her own account with a message in which she urged her “dreamers” not to get involved in this circle of hate.
"I work in an industry where I, as a woman, like many of my colleagues, face criticism, ridicule and comparisons every day. Canceling, harassing or intimidating only perpetuates the discourse of violence that has existed for so long," she stated.
In this sense, the “Mala Fama” interpreter assured that far from defending an artist, hate on social networks creates barriers: “Let us not participate in feeding narratives of hate, since as I have said, there is room for everyone and the positive reasons to be happy and grateful will always outweigh,” she added.
To conclude her message, Danna alluded to the musical duet with Belinda and promised many surprises for the launch of her next EP.
