Aylín Mujica narrated the last moments of her son Mauro: “They revived him six times”
The actress gave an interview to Verónica Bastos in which she revealed unpublished details about the moments of anguish she experienced with the loss of her son.
Actress Aylín Mujica broke the silence about the sudden death of her son Mauro in a moving interview given to the host of “La Mesa Caliente”, Verónica Bastos.
Just a few days after the heartbreaking event, the villain of stories like “” and “” opened her heart to share how what seemed like a common flu ended in pneumonia that claimed the life of her first-born child in Barbados.
According to Mujica's testimony, Mauro, who was known in the music scene as DJ MAAHEZ, had a “very bad cold” during his last visit to Miami. However, the young man decided not to go to the doctor despite his mother's insistence, and to stick to the trip he had scheduled for Barbados.
“I'm not going to get off, I have to travel to Barbados,” are the words that Mauro Menéndez exclaimed to the actor after taking him to the emergency room.
Once at his destination, Mauro had complications that made him go to the doctor and get a diagnosis of pneumonia: “He tells me: 'Yes, I went to the hospital and they told me that I have very bad pneumonia, but they already gave me antibiotics and I feel better,'” commented Aylín Mujica.
Hours later, the situation took a turn that no mother would want to experience. And after hours of silence on the part of the young man, Aylín was able to contact a friend of her son, who told her that she was with him in the hospital.
"When I talk to him, his friend answers me, who was in the hospital, and the only thing he tells me is: 'Mauro was playing soccer watching the sunset with us and some friends. He convulsed three times, the ambulance arrived late, he lacked oxygen in his brain and he is currently intubated, but his heart is stopping all the time,'" declared the famous 51-year-old.
He was revived approximately five times. The sixth they called me and the doctor told me: We have to make a decision Aylín Mujica – Actress
One of the artist's most shocking revelations was about her last words to Mauro: "I told the friend to put her phone close to her ear so she could hear me. And then I started shouting at her: 'Don't go, Mauro, don't go!'" she said.
After this incident, Mujica took an emergency flight to Barbados from Colombia, where he was filming “Top Chef VIP.” However, before reaching their destination, Mauro's father, Osamu Menéndez, called her to give her the news of the death of his firstborn.
The driver also reported that once on the island, the weight of the situation fell on her: "I couldn't. I was sitting at the airport talking to my best friends saying: 'I don't understand, I don't understand, I don't understand.' The world stopped and it was me in a chair without stopping crying, without understanding the situation (...) I didn't stop crying throughout the immigration line."
