David Beckham receives his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
The footballer had the support of his entire family, however, the absence of his eldest son, Brooklyn, was noted at the event.
David Beckham reached a new milestone in his legendary career, but not as a footballer, but as a pop culture icon. The sports star and now businessman received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The ceremony, full of emotion and glamour, brought together his wife Victoria, his children Romeo, Cruz and Harper, and several famous friends. However, the absence of the eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, 27, became the focus of attention of the evening, reigniting rumors about the deep crisis the family is going through.
Brooklyn, who was absent from the event, did not celebrate his latest paternal achievement with his family. This distance is no coincidence. The omission occurs just five months after the young man unleashed a media storm by attacking his parents on social networks.
On that occasion, he accused David and Victoria of trying to ruin his relationship with his wife, actress and model Nicola Peltz. "They are not controlling me. I am defending myself for the first time in my life," he then wrote on his Instagram stories.
As the Beckham family gathered in Los Angeles to celebrate, Brooklyn was seen strolling with Nicola Peltz in West Hollywood, as if to underline his emotional and physical distance from the clan. The fracture, which has been getting worse since the young man's wedding in 2022, seems more open than ever.
Tom Cruise praised Beckham
Despite this, David, the support of friends and colleagues was not lacking. The ceremony featured figures such as James Corden, Eva Longoria and Landon Donovan. But without a doubt, the surprise guest who stole the show was actor Tom Cruise, known for his public seclusion in Los Angeles.
Cruise took the podium to praise the athlete, highlighting his humble origins and discipline. “What makes David's story truly extraordinary is not simply where he is today, but how he started,” the “Mission: Impossible” star said, adding that “success has never changed who he is.”
Cruise also dedicated a heartfelt message to the Beckham family: “During much of that extraordinary journey, Victoria has been by his side, and together they have built a beautiful family.”
In his acceptance speech, David Beckham not only reciprocated the praise of Cruise – whom he recognized as his inspiration and friend for more than 20 years – he also paid explicit tribute to his loved ones. "Victoria, my incredible wife, without whom none of this would be possible. And my beautiful children, who are the reason I get up in the morning," he declared.
Then, with a broken voice, he added: “Guys, I hope one day you bring my grandchildren here and tell them about a boy who dreamed big.”
