Jacob Elordi reacts to the death of his character in “Euphoria”
The third season of “Euphoria” will end next Sunday, May 31, and will air on HBO
The third season of “Euphoria” has not left anyone indifferent, and the seventh episode, broadcast on Sunday night, was one of the most shocking: Nate Jacobs, the conflicted character played by Jacob Elordi, died bitten by a rattlesnake while he was buried alive.
Far from being horrified, the Australian actor confessed that he thought it was a “great way to die.”
“It's great to see how everything has come to what it has,” Elordi joked in the segment after the HBO episode. The Golden Globes nominee reflected on his character's fate: "Nate was someone who made so many mistakes and made so many dark decisions. His death was, in some way, a coherent closure."
About the scene
Although Jacobs' death was described by fans as “the most horrible way to die,” for Elordi the filming was anything but.
"My shoulders were touching the side and I couldn't move my arms. Then they drilled holes in the lid and it went dark. It was actually very nice. It was pretty quiet in there," the actor mentioned.
The most striking moment came with the snake. The creator of the series, Sam Levinson, wanted to use a real reptile: a boa constrictor with a fake bell on the end. “The sound was alarming while it was locked in a box, but the snake was super adorable, really adorable,” Elordi said.
Later she said: "She came up next to me, she was very sleepy. I had to push her a little to get her up. And that was it."
For the performer, saying goodbye to Nate Jacobs marks the closing of a deeply significant cycle. "This program is a huge part, not only of my career, but of my life. It has been incredible and I am very proud to be part of this," he confessed.
The finale of the third season of “Euphoria” will air next Sunday, May 31, closing an installment that arrived after a four-year hiatus.
