Marc Anthony releases salsa version of “Feliz Navidad”
The new version of the salsa classic Christmas song is part of a series of songs that Amazon Music Original is preparing to celebrate this time of year
Marc Anthony joins Amazon Music's Christmas celebrations with the release of a new version of the Christmas classic “Feliz Navidad / I Wanna Wish You a Merry Christmas” by Jose Feliciano.
Through Amazon Music's social media, the 57-year-old singer explained why he chose the song by the Puerto Rican-American singer-songwriter.
“I chose “'Feliz Navidad' because I grew up with the song, it's a classic. This one represents me more than any other song. It captures that multicultural Christmas spirit,” Marc Anthony says about the song. The salsa singer also took the opportunity to express what this time of year means to him. “Christmas for me is about family. You can work all year, but there’s always an excuse not to sacrifice so much because you use that time to be with family,” he said. Marc Anthony’s version of “Feliz Navidad / I Wanna Wish You a Merry Christmas” is part of a series of Christmas covers that Amazon Music Original is preparing to celebrate this time of year. With this song, the Puerto Rican salsa icon joins other artists who have also covered other Christmas classics for Amazon Music Original, including Gwen Stefani with “Shake The Snow Globe (from Oh. What. Fun.)”, Kylie Minogue with “XMAS”, Mariah The Scientist with “Santa Baby”, Marco Mengoni with “Coming Home”, Vanessa Mai with “Christmas In This Room”, Amir with “Words”, Spacey Jane with “Please Come Home For Christmas”, among others. The announcement of Marc Anthony’s version of “Feliz Navidad” comes just one day after the singer surprised everyone by revealing that he will have his first Las Vegas residency.
This week, the salsa icon confirmed he will have a series of shows at the BleauLive Theater in the Fontainebleau casino in Las Vegas.
So far, Marc Anthony will give 10 performances at the BleauLive Theater on February 13, 14, 15, 20, and 21; July 24, 25, 29, and 31; and August 1, 2026.
