An undercover crime operation was mistaken for an immigration raid Friday night in West Hollywood.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) confirmed Saturday that an undercover operation was conducted in West Hollywood's Rainbow District following reports of pickpocketing and other criminal activity that did not involve federal immigration agents.
LASD officials said in a statement that more than a dozen people were arrested during the operation.
