Amazon MGM Studios reported that, as a precautionary measure, they made the decision to briefly halt production
The new production of “Tomb Raider” temporarily suspended filming after Sophie Turner suffered a minor injury on the set.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the incident occurred recently and this led to a temporary halt in filming as a precautionary measure. The actress, who plays the iconic character of Lara Croft, is currently recovering. In a statement, quoted by the same outlet, Amazon MGM Studios explained: "Sophie Turner recently suffered a minor injury. As a precautionary measure, production was briefly paused so she can recover. We hope to resume production as soon as possible." Specific details about the nature of the injury have not yet been revealed. Regarding filming: Filming for this new adaptation of the popular video game began earlier this year, and the first images of Turner as Lara Croft had already been released. Also, at the beginning of the month, new photos circulated from the set in England, where she was seen participating in a demanding action scene, demonstrating the physical demands of the production. In addition to Turner, the cast includes prominent figures such as Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, Celia Imrie, and Sasha Luss, among others. The series is creatively led by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, known for her iconic work on “Fleabag,” who serves as creator, writer, executive producer, and co-showrunner. She shares these roles with Chad Hodge.
