The successes continue for Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures after confirming that the film “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” managed to overcome the barrier of one billion dollars at the box office in just six days of its release in theaters.

According to information from Variety and Deadline, the film becomes the second fastest to reach this milestone, being only below “Avengers: Endgame”, released in 2019.

At the time, the Russo brothers' production earned a record $1.2 billion worldwide in its opening weekend.

For his part, the president of Marvel Studios and producer of the film, Kevin Feige, spoke about this important achievement in an interview with Variety in which he stated: “It is overwhelming, frankly, to find ourselves in this position on a Tuesday morning, in the best possible way.”

The film's opening weekend also brought with it important achievements. And we cannot forget that it registered $360 million dollars in its domestic debut and $932 million dollars worldwide in just three days in theaters.

With these numbers, the film displaced “Avengers: Endgame,” which had grossed $357 million, as the biggest weekend opening in history in the United States.

“I didn't expect Endgame's record to be broken, but I couldn't be happier that it was this past weekend for our 38th MCU movie,” said Kevin Feige in this regard.

So far, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is the fourth film of 2026 to reach $1 billion in earnings. The first success of the year was “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” with $1,012 million, followed by “Michael” with $1,016 million and “Toy Story 5” with $1,068 million.

Meanwhile, the film “The Odyssey”, where Tom Holland is also part of its distinguished cast, has grossed $912 million to date and is about to become the fifth release of 2026 to enter the select billion-dollar club at the box office.
