Streaming in Spanish: “México 86” and “Circo Gómez” as weekend options
México 86 is one of Netflix's most ambitious bets that came out this June and stars Diego Luna
The catalog of Latin series continues to grow on the main streaming platforms, and June 2026 arrives with proposals that range from historical drama to traditional thrillers. This weekend, two titles are emerging as the big bets for those looking for quality content in the language: “México 86” from Netflix and “Circo Gómez”, available on ViX.
Here we tell you everything you need to know about these premieres and other Latin series available on Netflix, ViX and Disney .
Mexico 86
“Mexico 86” is one of Netflix's most ambitious bets for the month of June. Starring Diego Luna, the series fictionally recreates how Mexico managed to become the host of the FIFA World Cup in 1986, a milestone that seemed impossible at the time due to the devastating earthquake in Mexico City in 1985.
The official synopsis describes the plot as a story of “passion, madness and pure Mexican ingenuity”, where the political, social and sporting background that made that event possible is explored.
Beyond football, the series promises to delve into the complexities of a country that, against all odds, organized one of the most memorable tournaments in history.
Gomez Circus
“Circo Gómez”, created by Eugenio Derbez, is part of the ViX catalog and adds to the growing offer of original Latin American content on the platform. It also features the voices of Omar Chaparro and Vanessa Bauche.
With a title that evokes the circus universe and the most common Spanish-speaking surname, the series aims to be an exploration of family dynamics from a perspective that mixes drama and humor.
The series premiered on June 5 and follows the misadventures of a dysfunctional family that owns a traveling circus on the brink of bankruptcy. The patriarch, an egocentric and incompetent artist, and his chaotic group will do everything possible to keep their show alive.
Disney 's commitment to Latin content
Disney is intensifying its commitment to production in Spanish and Portuguese. The platform closed strategic agreements with key production companies, such as the one announced with the Brazilian Seriella, which includes a wide package of premieres and series that will be broadcast simultaneously on open television and streaming, strengthening the presence of national products on a global platform.
According to the information released, these five titles will be released: “Ben-Hur”, scheduled for September; “Amor en Ruinas”, will be released in July, “Las 7 Marías”, “La Ira del Heredero” and “Jesús”.
In the current Disney catalog, several series in Spanish stand out with very diverse proposals:
The Machine
Starring Gael García Bernal and Diego Luna, it follows a boxer at the worst moment of his career who seeks revenge, while a ruthless organization enters the scene and the risks become a matter of life or death.
The series explores the dark side of the boxing world and the protagonist's personal demons.
The manager
Comedy-drama starring a cunning building doorman who turns his position into a position of power, manipulating the residents and treating the property as a world where he makes the rules.
