William Levy stands up to criticism: “I know who I am”
The Cuban-born actor reflected on what it means to be exposed to criticism and opinions from third parties as a result of his profession
After a 2025 marked by personal and professional changes, actor William Levy is in one of the most fulfilling stages of his life and is not willing to let criticism or negative comments dictate his emotional well-being, as he made clear in a recent interview.
According to the telenovela heartthrob, his most Two decades in the entertainment industry have helped him become immune to criticism and the opinions of others, as these don't define who he truly is. For him, the only opinion that matters is that of his loved ones: "I'm used to it now, it's been over twenty years in the business and I'm used to it. It doesn't affect me at all. I'm one of those people who doesn't pay attention to that. I know who I am, my children know who I am, and my fans know who I am too," he said in an interview with the program "Hoy." Along the same lines, I have emphasized that most of the criticism against him stems from ignorance of who he really is. "I'm not going to spend all my time trying to let people know who I really am; that doesn't interest me. I live as I am, whether people like it or not, it doesn't matter. I do my things, I live my life, I'm a father, I'm a friend, I'm a son, and I try to do my best as a person, always." He added.
In contrast, William Levy took the time to thank his fans for the support and respect they have given him over the years and through the controversies he has been involved in.
“The comments... if you're aware of what people are saying about you, you're in a bad way, you're never going to be happy. Besides, I don't need anyone's approval to do what we're going to do. I'm very happy, very grateful to the fans, to God for allowing me to do what I love to do, and I'm moving forward,” he concluded.
