The chain of deaths due to lightning in Bihar is not taking its name to stop. A total of 11 people have died in the state from late Wednesday evening to Thursday. Those who died from Thanka include three from Kaimur, three from Gaya, two from Nawada, one from Rohtas, one from Buxar and one from Banka. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has expressed his deep condolences on the death due to lightning in the state.
Instructions to pay four lakh compensation
Expressing condolences, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that he is with the affected families in this hour of disaster. He has directed to give an ex-gratia grant of Rs.4 lakh to the next of kin of all the deceased immediately. At the same time, people have been appealed to take full vigilance in bad weather. Follow the suggestions issued by the Disaster Management Department from time to time to prevent thunderstorms in the event of bad weather. Stay at home in bad weather and stay safe.

The Bihar government has also advised the use of Indravajra app to get accurate information about thunderstorms. State Deputy Chief Minister Renu Devi has issued a release expressing concern over the deaths due to lightning and has also advised people to download the Indravajra app.
