Senior Leaders Meet for 2024 Assembly Elections
Meetings of senior party leaders with state units are ongoing for the 2024 assembly elections. After consultations in Jharkhand and Haryana, the Congress held an extensive discussion today on Jammu and Kashmir, where elections have not been announced yet. However, the Election Commission has indicated that elections may be announced soon.
Will Congress Fight the Assembly Elections Alone?
Today, many leaders including Deepak Babaria and Raj Babbar deliberated on the ongoing meetings regarding the assembly elections. Regarding the strategy, Deepak Babaria said, “Congress will fight the assembly elections alone, this is the understanding we have today. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and party leaders Rahul Gandhi and KC Venugopal held a meeting with 40 leaders of the party's Haryana unit today. In the last Lok Sabha elections, our vote share in Haryana increased to 47.69%. Rahul Gandhi has praised the increase in vote percentage. He has asked to work unitedly in the state and ensure the victory of the party in the state assembly elections. We can say with confidence that we will win the state assembly elections and get more than 70 seats.”
Rahul Gandhi to Hold a Rally in Haryana
Despite losing the Lok Sabha elections from Gurugram, Raj Babbar remains actively involved in Haryana Congress programs. Regarding today's meeting, Raj Babbar said, “The upcoming Haryana assembly elections were discussed in the meeting and all the leaders expressed their views. We are excited about Haryana.”
When asked if Rahul Gandhi has any programs in Haryana, Raj Babbar confirmed, “Yes.”
