The two-day special session of the Delhi Legislative Assembly begins today. It is likely to raise the issue of the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Act, 2023, recently enacted by the ruling Aam Aadmi Party while the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party including the alleged mismanagement of recent floods and reconstruction of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's official bungalow. Ready to question the government on various issues.

According to the information, the third part of the fourth session of the Legislative Assembly will start on Wednesday i.e. 16 August 2023 at 11:00 am. With the passing of Delhi National Capital Territory Administration (Amendment) Bill-2023 i.e. Delhi Service Bill, the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi will once again be in the role of super boss. That's why it is believed that the politics of Delhi can heat up again from the session.

Of course, the National Capital Civil Services Authority (NCCSA) is being formed for the appointment and transfer of bureaucrats and its chairman will be the chief minister, but in the three-member authority, the bureaucrats will have a strong side. At the same time, the opinion of the Lieutenant Governor will be final on the decisions of the authority. Due to this, there may again be a tussle between the Delhi government and the LG.

On the other hand, Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Ramveer Singh Bidhuri had demanded a few days back to extend the two-day assembly session called from today to 10 days. He had also written a letter to the Delhi Assembly Speaker in this regard. The argument for extending the assembly session was that two days are insufficient to discuss the problems of the capital.

In a letter to Assembly Speaker Ramniwas Goyal, Bidhuri had given notice for discussion on 12 issues. These issues include misappropriation of crores in panic buttons installed in the name of safety of women and prevention of untoward incidents, falsification of files of corruption cases from Vigilance Department at midnight, expenditure of crores on beautification of Chief Minister's residence and dealing with floods. The failure of the Delhi government is the main one.
