Jharkhand's strong leader and former Bokaro MLA Samresh Singh passed away on Thursday. He breathed his last at his residence in the city center at around 6.30 am. Actually, he was running ill for a long time. He had trouble breathing on 12 November. After which he was admitted to Ranchi Medica. On Tuesday, the doctors discharged him after seeing improvement in his condition. After which he was at home only.
Samaresh Singh is the founding member of BJP
Former Bokaro MLA Samaresh Singh was a founding member of the BJP. People also call him Dada. In the first session of BJP held in Mumbai in 1980, it was his suggestion to keep the lotus symbol, which was approved by the central leaders. In fact, Samaresh got victory in the 1977 elections on the lotus symbol itself. Later Samaresh was elected MLA from Bokaro in 1985 and 1990 from BJP. Earlier in 1985, Samaresh Singh along with Inder Singh Namdhari revolted in BJP and formed Sampoorna Kranti Dal with 13 MLAs, but after a few days Sampoorna Kranti Dal was merged with BJP.
Elections were lost in 1995
In the year 1995, Samaresh Singh contested as an independent after not getting ticket from BJP. In which he had to face defeat. After this, he contested the election of the year 2000 on the ticket of Jharkhand Vananchal Congress. Then became MLA in 2009 on JVM ticket. Later joined BJP, but in 2014 he fought as an independent after not getting BJP ticket. In which he was defeated.
Funeral will be held in native village
Please tell that Samaresh Singh's last rites will be held in Samaresh's native village Debultand in Chandankiyari block today evening. His elder son Rana Pratap has also reached from America. At the same time, people have also started arriving at his residence. Bharti Singh, wife of former minister Samaresh Singh, had died on August 28, 2017 itself.
