Rain continues to drench many parts of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR). The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Delhi, predicting that the rain will persist in the capital until July 28. The IMD stated that Delhi will remain cloudy on Thursday, with moderate rain expected. Today, the maximum and minimum temperatures in Delhi are likely to be 34 and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively. Here’s a look at the weather conditions in other states across the country:
Bihar Weather
No alert has been issued by the Meteorological Department for North Bihar. According to the department, there are chances of rain in the districts of South Bihar until Friday. The likelihood of the monsoon becoming active in the remaining five to six days of July appears very low. There is no weather system in Bihar and its adjacent areas that would result in rain.
Jharkhand Weather
The monsoon may weaken in Jharkhand from Thursday. The Meteorological Department has indicated that there are chances of rain in various parts of the state until July 30.
‘Red Alert’ Issued in Gujarat
Heavy rains continue to lash Gujarat, prompting the Meteorological Department to issue a 'red alert’ for extremely heavy rains in many districts of the state. Rain has also been forecasted in many areas of Gujarat on Thursday.
Heavy Rain in Rajasthan
The monsoon is active in Rajasthan, and the rainy season continues in the state. Jaipur Meteorological Center in-charge Radheshyam Sharma reported that the low-pressure area over Madhya Pradesh has weakened and turned into a circulation system. The monsoon trough line is passing through Bikaner and Sikar. Due to its effect, moderate to heavy rain and occasionally very heavy rain can be expected in some parts of Bharatpur, Jaipur, Ajmer division, and the Shekhawati region. There are also chances of rain in some parts of Kota, Udaipur, and Bikaner divisions. Rain is forecasted in many parts of eastern Rajasthan and some parts of the Bikaner division of western Rajasthan over the next four to five days.
Rain Expected in Other States
According to Skymet Weather, moderate to heavy rain is expected in parts of Konkan and Goa on Thursday. Light to moderate rain is expected in parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra, and Telangana. Heavy rain may occur in some parts of coastal Karnataka and Odisha. Sikkim, Northeast India, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal are likely to receive light to moderate rain with heavy rain occurring once or twice.
Additionally, Skymet Weather predicts light to moderate rain today in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, as well as parts of Marathwada, Telangana, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Light rain may also occur in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Lakshadweep.
Heavy Rain in Mumbai
Moderate to intense rains with strong winds of 50-60 kmph are expected at isolated places in Mumbai districts on Thursday. All schools and colleges in the Palghar district have been declared a holiday after the IMD issued an orange alert for today.
