Maluma revealed that he suffered panic attacks after taking a break from touring
The Colombian star confessed that stopping the pace of his tours triggered a severe mental health crisis that transformed his life and his artistic perspective.
In an unexpected revelation, Colombian singer Maluma opened his heart about one of the most difficult battles of his life. The urban music icon confessed that, after deciding to take a necessary break from performing and touring, he began to experience severe panic attacks that completely changed his personal and professional course.
“I felt like I was going to die,” the Medellín interpreter admitted on Jennifer Hudson's show, describing the moments of deep anxiety that assaulted him when the spotlights went off.
Accustomed to constant adrenaline and the clamor of the public, the transition to absolute stillness caused a strong emotional imbalance. According to the artist, being disconnected from the frenetic pace of the music industry forced him to come face to face with his own fears and insecurities, far from ego and fame.
This ordeal, however, became a catalyst for a spiritual rebirth. Juan Luis Londoño – the singer's real name – explained that this healing process inspired him to found a new space for conversation about mental health through a podcast, seeking to make visible a problem that affects millions but is often hidden.
Far from definitively moving away from music, this crisis transformed his art. The Colombian used vulnerability and the lessons learned during his therapies to give life to his new studio album, titled Loco x Volver.
The album intertwines the challenges of his mental health with the happiness of his recent fatherhood, marking the beginning of a mature, introspective and completely renewed stage for the artist.
