Pitbull seeks volunteers for the Guinness record he wants to break
The artist of Cuban origin calls on his followers to achieve the greatest concentration of people with false bald heads at his next concert in Hyde Park
The rapper and producer Pitbull, popularly known as "Mr. Worldwide", set out to achieve a new and unusual feat: to enter his name in the Guinness Book of Records by achieving the largest concentration of people using artificial bald spots in the same venue.
The historic and fun official attempt will take place next Friday, July 10 in London, England, where the 45-year-old artist will perform as the main star of the renowned British Summer Time (BST) festival in Hyde Park.
The initiative was born after a viral phenomenon started by his own fans, affectionately nicknamed the “Bald-E's”, who for months have been attending his concerts en masse wearing formal suits, aviator sunglasses and latex bald caps to imitate the singer's iconic style.
To make the brand official, the BST Hyde Park festival and Pitbull himself launched a call through their social networks requesting a team of “legendary volunteers who know how to count.”
These helpers will have the mission of auditing the crowd under the strict guidelines of an official Guinness judge, ensuring that all participants have their bald caps perfectly adjusted and their hair tied back. As a reward, selected volunteers will be able to enjoy the concert for free.
“Every time they go bald, I know they are about to have the best time of their lives,” the “Fireball” singer excitedly declared.
The event promises to transform the emblematic London park into a sea of shining heads in a day that will combine music and humor.
