Indian Railway: A big initiative is being taken by the Railways. According to the report of The New Indian Express, for the first time, Indian Railways is considering running 150 pairs of passenger trains under Public-Private Partnership (PPP Mode). For this, Indian Railways has also sought bids from private entities. Let us tell you, private institutions will also be given the right to decide the fare of passengers in these trains.

Preparation to generate revenue: Significantly, Indian Railways is preparing this to earn revenue. According to the report of The New Indian Express, the 150 trains that will be run on PPP mode will be trains running at a maximum speed of 160 kmph. The purpose of the Railways is to generate revenue of about 30 thousand crore rupees from these deals.

Railway Ministry gave green signal: According to the report, it is coming out from the Ministry of Railways that initially 150 pairs of passenger trains will be run with new rakes. There will be private participation in running these trains. The ministry has also said that if this campaign is successful then the number of trains will be increased further. Railways has said that the trains running on PPP mode will be part of 12 clusters of the railway network.

The Ministry of Railways has said that each of the trains running on PPP mode will have a minimum length of 384 metres. This will be equal to 16 coaches. The ministry has also said that the maintenance, financing, purchase and operation of these trains will be the responsibility of private companies.

Railways will provide this facility: Railways has said that private companies can buy or lease trains with ownership. Railway rakes, stations, train control systems, water and sanitation lines will be provided to these companies by the Railways. But private companies will have to pay a share in the transportation cost, power charge, and profits to the railways.
