Ekadashi Tithi holds immense importance in Hinduism, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is a day of fasting and worship, observed by many devotees seeking relief from life's troubles. Among the 24 Ekadashis in a year, the Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha in the Jyeshtha month is known as Apara Ekadashi.
According to the Panchang, the Ekadashi Tithi of Krishna Paksha in Jyeshtha month will commence on June 02 at 05:04 am and conclude on June 03 at 02:21 midnight. Hence, Apara Ekadashi fast will be observed on June 02.
Rituals for Apara Ekadashi:
- Light lamps in every corner: To alleviate financial crises, light lamps in every corner of the house in the evening on Ekadashi. This pleases Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi, ensuring prosperity in the household.
- Abhishek of Lord Vishnu: Anoint Lord Vishnu with cow's milk in a Dakshinavarti conch on Apara Ekadashi. This ritual is believed to bring desired results and happiness into one's life.
- Offer yellow sweets: Offer yellow sweets to Lord Vishnu on Apara Ekadashi. As per scriptures, Lord Vishnu favors the color yellow, and offerings in this hue please Him, bestowing blessings upon His devotees.
