AC Milan strengthens its attack in the absence of Santiago Gimenez
AC Milan officially announced the arrival of Niclas Fullkrug to bolster their attack. The German will provide cover for the injured Santiago Gimenez
Italian AC Milan confirmed on Friday the signing of German striker Niclas Fullkrug on loan from West Ham United with an option to buy.
Born in Hanover on February 9, 1993, he came through the youth ranks at Werder Bremen and has also played in his home country for Greuther Furth, Nuremberg, Hannover 96, and Borussia Dortmund, with whom he started in the 2014 Champions League final against Real Madrid. He later made the jump to the Premier League.
Fulkrug, who will wear the number '9' on the Milan jersey, is also a regular in the German national team, with whom he has played in the European Championship in his country and the World Cup in Qatar.
The injury to Mexican Santiago Gimenez, who underwent surgery at the end of the year for his right ankle problems, forced Milan to go to the winter transfer market in search of a striker to take his place, although the German has not played for West Ham since November 30.
