Facundo Medina revealed that the conspiracy theories that arose after Argentina's defeat against Spain in the 2026 World Cup final even reached his closest circle. The defender said that he had a conversation with his mother after she expressed doubts about the viral images of the Albiceleste locker room before the match played in New York.
The statements are part of a preview of the interview broadcast by the Ferné program with Grego. There, Grego Rossello asked him how he reacted when his mother told him that she was also a little doubtful. Medina responded: "I told him: 'Come on, are you going to get into that too? Stop screwing around!' 'Stop blowing up your balls!', I told him."
The footballer who emerged from River Plate, with spells at Talleres de Córdoba and Lens before arriving at Olympique de Marseille, explained that he tried to convince his family that the interpretations about the team's behavior were unfounded.
Another of the phrases spread from the preview reinforced that idea: "'You're an idiot,' I tell him. 'Why do you think we're going to do what?', I tell him, in the game.
