Mexican Isaac del Toro is ready to experience one of the most important moments of his career by competing in the Tour de France for the first time, the 2026 edition of which will begin this Saturday. The young cyclist will be part of the UAE Team Emirates-XRG, where he will have the responsibility of supporting the Slovenian Tadej Pogacar in his attempt to win a fifth title in the French round.
Del Toro assured that his priority will be to learn from one of the most demanding competitions on the international calendar and contribute to the maximum for the leader of his team.
"For me, this year is important. I will try to learn from the critical moments and contribute what I can for Tadej," said the UAE cyclist.
The Mexican recognizes the importance of competing with the best team in the world
The national rider did not hide the emotion of being on the starting line of one of the most prestigious events in world cycling and highlighted the privilege of being part of one of the strongest squads in the peloton.
"It is a great dream to know that I am going to be at the start of the Tour and do so in the best team in the world, trying to help Tadej. I feel privileged, it is hard for me to believe the person I am becoming throughout these years and the truth is that I am very happy," said the Mexican.
“I'm looking forward to it starting and I'm going to try to give it my all these three weeks,” he added.

The Mexican cyclist explained that he expects a highly contested edition of the Tour de France, where strategy will be decisive to aspire to victory in each stage.
“I'm looking forward to it starting and I'm going to try to give it my all these three weeks,” he added.
Del Toro pointed out that “a very tough race” is expected in which “tactics are going to be very important every day.”
"I'm excited to experience the sport in this way. It's what I've always been waiting for, since I started riding a bicycle. I'm excited, a little nervous," he confessed.
