FIFA announced the individual awards for the 2026 World Cup once the final of the tournament had concluded, with Spain also the main protagonist in the personal distinctions. Rodri was chosen as the best footballer of the competition, Pau Cubarsí received recognition as the best young player and Unai Simón was distinguished as the best goalkeeper, while Kylian Mbappé finished as the championship's top scorer.

The organization also confirmed that the Netherlands won the Fair Play Trophy, reserved for the team with the best disciplinary behavior throughout the World Cup.

The main individual distinction went to Rodri, who received the Ballon d'Or after being selected by the FIFA Technical Study Group (TSG) as the most outstanding player of the tournament. The Spanish midfielder topped a classification in which Lionel Messi, from Argentina, won the Silver Ball and Kylian Mbappé, from France, completed the podium with the Bronze Ball.

Spain's collective performance was also reflected in other recognitions. Unai Simón was awarded the Golden Glove as the best goalkeeper of the World Cup, while Pau Cubarsí was chosen as the best young player in the competition, an award reserved for footballers born on or after January 1, 2005.

Mbappé won the Golden Boot and Messi finished second

Although France failed to lift the trophy, Kylian Mbappé finished the tournament as the top scorer and won the Golden Boot. The forward closed his participation with 10 goals and four assists in 769 minutes played, figures that allowed him to finish in first place in the scoring rankings.

Lionel Messi won the Silver Boot after scoring eight goals and distributing four assists over 853 minutes with the Argentine national team. Third place went to Englishman Jude Bellingham, author of seven goals and one assist in 698 minutes.

FIFA regulations establish that the Golden Boot is awarded to the player with the most goals in the tournament. In case of equality, the first tie-breaking criterion corresponds to the number of assists and, if the tie persists, the fewest number of minutes played is taken into account.

For its part, the selection of the Ballon d'Or, the Golden Glove and the Best Young Player award was made by the Technical Studies Group of the governing body of world football.

The list of winners left Spain as the most awarded team on an individual level, with three of the main distinctions of the championship. France found solace with Mbappé's Golden Boot, while Argentina placed Lionel Messi among the best players in the tournament by receiving both the Silver Ball and the Silver Boot.
