Jose Salomon Rondon returns to Mexican soccer. The Venezuelan striker will once again wear the colors of the Tuzos of Pachuca after a difficult stint in LaLiga. "King Solomon" returns to Liga MX to put his Real Oviedo nightmare behind him.

In July 2025, Salomon Rondon embarked on his journey to Spain to play again in the Spanish first division with Real Oviedo. Rondon was loaned from Pachuca to the Spanish club, but his stats weren't as good.

Five months later, Jose Salomon Rondon returns to Liga MX. The all-time leading scorer for La Vinotinto was presented with a creative "Cowboy"-style video. Rondon returns to Mexico, a country where he demonstrated his quality and led Pachuca to a Concacaf Champions League title.

Salomon Rondon played 16 matches with Real Oviedo. The Venezuelan striker was on the field for 1,038 minutes (just over 11 full matches). The Venezuelan was only able to score 2 goals during that time; one against Valencia and another against Girona.

However, Jose Salomon Rondon's numbers are just a symptom of a major problem plaguing Real Oviedo. The Spanish team has only scored 7 goals in their first 17 matches since returning to LaLiga. Interestingly, Rondon is the only striker with more than one goal this season.

The “King Solomon”

Jose Salomon Rondon had a career resurgence with Pachuca. With the Mexican club, Salomon played 70 matches. In 5,690 minutes on the pitch, the Venezuelan striker scored 36 goals and provided 8 assists.

Wearing the Pachuca jersey, Rondon won the Concacaf Champions League, a Derby de las Americas, and was the top scorer in both the Concacaf Champions League and the 2024 Liga MX Clausura tournament. Grupo Pachuca hopes to recover the best version of “King Solomon”.
