Officers with the Fontana Police Department were mistaken for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, Police Chief Michael Dorsey said.
In a statement released Thursday, Dorsey clarified the role of the Fontana police regarding immigration enforcement after the public mistakenly identified police officers as ICE agents. Dorsey said his department is committed to protecting and serving all members of the community and that its mission is to ensure the safety and well-being of all who live, work, or visit the city of Fontana in San Bernardino County.
