The Coalition for Human Immigrant Rights in Los Angeles (CHIRLA) warned of an unusual increase in arrests of immigrants who were planning to make domestic trips at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
According to the organization CHIRLA, more than a dozen immigrants have been arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents at LAX, and more than half of those cases have occurred in the last two weeks.
The immigrant defense organization assured that the situation is not exclusive to the Los Angeles airport, but that arrests by federal immigration agents have also occurred in recent weeks in other air terminals in the country.
