CHP issues 12,000 speeding fines in California

The California Highway Patrol(CHP) reported it issued about 12,000 citations against drivers who were surprised You are travelling at excessive speed during the Period of Maximum Vigilance on roads, despite public warnings.
From 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday April 28 until 5:59 a.m. on Wednesday 29, CHP officers conducted the operati vo for the purpose of combating a deadly trend due to high-speed driving accidents on state roads.
During the Maximum Vigilance Period, CHP officers issued a total 19,564 fines for various violations, in addition to handing out 2,807 warnings.
