Iran warns that war will expand to other regions if the US attacks again
Uncertainty remains about a new bombing of Tehran, while Trump assured that he suspended a new bombing at the request of the Gulf countries.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard warned this Wednesday that the war “will spread beyond the region” if the United States resumes hostilities against the Islamic Republic, after threats from US President Donald Trump to attack the Persian country again if an agreement is not reached.
The Revolutionary Guard denounced that the United States and Israel “have not learned from the strategic defeats suffered against Iran” and stated that, despite the attacks launched by Washington and Tel Aviv, the Islamic Republic has not yet used its full military potential. “We are men of war and you will see our power on the battlefield, not in empty communications or on virtual pages,” the statement added.
Crossed threats
The Iranian warnings come as uncertainty persists over a possible resumption of the conflict between Iran, the United States and Israel, after weeks of cross-threats between the parties.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned today that an eventual return to war would bring “more surprises” for the US Armed Forces. While Trump assured yesterday Tuesday (05/19/2026) that he was determined to undertake an attack against the Islamic Republic, but that he postponed it at the request of several of his Arab allies in the Persian Gulf, such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), who asked him to give space to diplomatic negotiations.
In its latest proposal, the United States demanded that Tehran deliver 440 kilos of uranium enriched to 60%, maintain a single nuclear facility, refuse to pay war compensation and unlock less than 25% of Iranian assets frozen abroad.
Tehran, for its part, has insisted on an end to the war on all fronts - including Lebanon -, the lifting of sanctions, the release of all frozen assets, war compensations and the recognition of its sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz. In addition, Iran asks to postpone negotiations on its nuclear program to a phase after the peace agreement.
