A police dog from the Brea Police Department in Orange County died after suffering a medical emergency.
Brea city officials announced Thursday that the K-9 member, named Mirk, died June 17 after what was described only as a medical emergency.
"It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of police dog Mirk. During his service with our department, Mirk worked alongside his handler, Officer Harris, with loyalty, bravery and dedication," the department posted on social media.
