Not all compact electric SUVs are designed solely for navigating congested streets. Some manufacturers have begun to develop models that, despite their small dimensions, offer sufficient autonomy and equipment to respond reliably outside the urban environment. That is the approach of the Hyundai INSTER.

The South Korean brand's proposal seeks to attract those who need a practical vehicle for everyday use, but that can also handle weekend getaways or trips between cities without becoming a concern for autonomy.

Added to this approach is a versatile interior, technological solutions typical of higher segments and a fast charging system that helps reduce waiting times when it is time to connect the vehicle.

An interior that takes advantage of every centimeter

One of the most striking aspects of the Hyundai INSTER is the flexibility of its cabin. The seats can be folded down to adapt the space according to the driver's needs, whether to transport passengers or load larger objects.

The second row can also move longitudinally, allowing the trunk capacity to be increased from 238 to 351 liters, offering greater versatility for different types of use.

This use of space makes the model an interesting alternative for those looking for a compact SUV without giving up a functional interior.

Two electric versions and up to 518 kilometers of autonomy

The range is made up of two mechanical configurations. The first uses a 42 kWh battery accompanied by a 97 horsepower motor. The second incorporates a 49 kWh battery and increases the power to 115 horsepower.

According to Hyundai, the autonomy can reach 518 kilometers on urban routes, a figure that allows you to cope with a good part of daily trips without having to constantly recharge.

Another of its strong points is fast charging. The system allows you to recover around 100 kilometers of autonomy in just 12 minutes and reach 80% of the battery in about 30 minutes when a compatible charger is used.

Technology focused on comfort and safety

The INSTER also incorporates a wide package of electronic assistants grouped under the Hyundai Smart Sense platform.

Among the aids available are lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control and peripheral vision monitor, systems designed to facilitate driving both in the city and on the highway.

The technological experience is completed with a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel and a multimedia screen of the same size from which navigation, connectivity and entertainment functions are managed.

In addition, the SUV incorporates the V2L function, which allows the energy stored in the battery to be used to power external devices such as power tools, small appliances or compatible electronic equipment. It is a feature that expands the possibilities of use of the vehicle and demonstrates that an urban SUV can also offer practical solutions outside of everyday asphalt.
